The New England Association for Financial Professionals is holding its 30th annual conference on April 15-17, 2015 at Mohegan Sun Convention Center in Uncasville, CT. Come visit us at booth #5. Also, listen to Akshay Anand, CFA, Principal and Senior Analyst, and John Villela, CFA, Managing Principal and Portfolio Manager, as they speak on important topics to treasury professionals.
Akshay will be presenting Separately Managed Accounts: Does it make sense for your investments? on Wednesday, April 15, from 2 to 3:15 pm. This session will explore what to consider when comparing a separately managed account against a commingled or mutual fund. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each type? What factors should go into the decision-making process? And once the decision has been made to outsource, what’s next?
John will be presenting Demystifying the Federal Open Market Committee on Thursday, April 16, from 8 to 8:50 am. Much is written in the press about Janet Yellen, Federal Reserve Chairwoman, and the “Fed.” But what does this mean and why should you care? This session will provide a brief history of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC), describe the make-up of the committee, and the mechanics of how it works. It also will include a discussion on the current challenges facing the FOMC and how its decisions can and will affect your department.
