FOMC: Follow Trends, Not Points

BOSTON, MA, October 28, 2026 – The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) met today to assess the state of the US economy and monetary policy. The FOMC left the Federal Funds Target Rate unchanged at 3.75-4.00%, matching market expectations. The decision to leave the policy rate unchanged was driven by the fact that the economy is strong and “we do not want to throw sand in the gears and throw people out of work.” The Committee will continue to assess incoming data to evaluate how it affects the economy and monetary policy going forward.
