2025 Russell Index Reconstitution

Each year, the Russell indices are updated to ensure that they reflect the current equity market. We published a white paper following the 2024 reconstitution that discussed the increasing “growthy-ness” of the Russell 1000 Value Index due to style construction rules that increased the number of companies in the index. This year’s reconstitution added even more names to the Russell 1000 Value Index – now totaling 874 companies, an all-time high – and included three “Mag 7” names that are also large holdings in the Russell 1000 Growth Index.
