The annual United Nations climate change conference, COP30, was held in Brazil last month. The proceedings highlighted a shift in the global approach to climate action calling for a greater focus on adaptation, perhaps at the cost of pursuing emissions reduction. We discuss investment implications of this shift as well as other topics that emerged from the conference such as the intersection of trade policy and climate change.
