BOSTON, MA, November 3, 2023 – Longfellow Investment Management Co., LLC (LIM) is honored to be recognized as one of the top 100 women-led businesses in Massachusetts for the fourth time. The Women’s Edge, partnering with The Globe Magazine (Boston Globe Media Partners, LLC), hosted an awards breakfast this morning recognizing the 100 organizations. The list was released today in conjunction with the event and will be published in the Women & Power issue of the Globe Magazine on November 5. LIM is thrilled to be included in the Top 100.
The 100 organizations included on the list represent a diverse range of businesses in both the public and private sectors and span numerous industries, including biotech and healthcare, education, construction, financial services, law firms, transportation, and more. The combined revenue and operating budget of the 100 companies exceeded $84 billion in 2022, an increase of $8 billion from the previous year.
The Women’s Edge is a Boston-based nonprofit organization that propels women leaders to achieve professional and personal success and deliver positive impact within their businesses and communities. This is the 23rd year that they have created this list and the 11th year they have partnered with the Globe Magazine. The Women’s Edge uses its own formula to rank the 100 organizations starting with revenue and operating budget. In addition, they look at the number of employees in Massachusetts, diversity in the workplace and management, and innovative projects.
“I am honored to have LIM included among the Top 100,” said Barbara McKenna, president of LIM. “At today’s event, we learned these businesses make a substantial contribution to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ economy and employ 136,442 people in Massachusetts and over 1.3 million globally. These 100 businesses represent approximately 15% of the state’s GDP.”
